Your life is always preaching one of two messages. Either God matters or He does not.
If we are honest we all do this at some point in our lives. Maybe it’s about God. Maybe it’s about something or someone else. But we all do it. We get something set in our mind that we want to be true, and no amount of reality will shake that belief as long as we desire to see the truth that we have created for ourselves.
God’s work of deliverance did not end with Israel and Egypt. He knew the work was only beginning. He knew more deliverance would be needed.
Not only does He not condemn you, He also promises that He will continue to make you more like Jesus until you are united with Him in eternity.
We do not strive for perfection, for that is impossible this side of heaven. But we do strive for progress.
There is old hymn called "Standing on the Promises." But it's hard to stand on promises that you don't know exist. We must focus on Christ, and set His Word as our foundation. Only then can we endure the storms that are most certainly on their way.
History can help us see the Bible as not just words on a page, but as evidence of real events and people that have walked the earth. The words of the Bible testify to their experiences and how the Gospel was real to them and shows that the Gospel has been true and stood the test of time in a tangible and real way.
